I am a 5th generation Native Taosena y Chacowa. My family is of Comanche, Aztec, Spanish and Navajo decent and we have resided in Llano Quemado for over 300 years.
I river guide because it’s important to me to keep close to the land of my ancestors, to teach our visitors of it’s historical/geological significance, and what it represents to locals and wildlife alike.
I am a 5th season river guide and I don’t see myself spending my summers any other way for the foreseeable future:) I Iearned how to guide on the Rio Grande, and of all the rivers I have been on my best stories come from my 21 day river trip on the Grand Canyon in 2017.
