The Rio Grande Float Half Day

1/2 Day Rio Grande Float!
We immensely enjoyed our Rio Grande float with Miles. We met him at the Rio Grande Visitors Center, approximately 1 hr 15 min from our home base in Santa Fe. Kokopelli was punctual, professional, and very safety oriented. As this was our first rapid experience with our 7 and 10 year old children, the float was a good introduction. It was calm, peaceful with a very quick area of gentle rapids. Miles had a lot of rafting, fishing, climbing and geological knowledge, so he was great to hang out with. Would highly recommend!!!”

Fantastic half day float!
“We picked the half day Rio Grande float since it was a first rafting trip with 3 kids (7, 9 & 11) and us parents are outnumbered! We all loved it! Baby rapids (but the boys loved it), they got to swim in the river – a highlight for them – and great guide. A really good time!”

Fantastic family rafting experience!
“We first rafted with Kokopelli in the summer of 2015 on the Pilar Racecourse and had a truly awesome experience! We couldn’t wait for our daughter to be old enough so that we could take her on the Rio Grande float. This summer, now that she is 5, we made it happen! The water was lower than usual, but it didn’t detract from the experience–she absolutely loved it! She kept asking when she could paddle, and as soon as the float was over, she was ready to do it again. Our guides, David and Billy, were super friendly and informative, too–even taking pictures of us! Definitely an experience that we will look forward to repeating with Kokopelli!”

Family Float Trip in the Santa Fe area
“My family went on the half-day Rio Grande Float with Kokopelli. The staff and our guide were all very friendly and knowledgable. It was my four-year-old daughter’s first time, and she enjoyed it very much. The river was running slow at the end of July with only a few “rapids.” Just right for a beginner. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a rafting company in the Santa Fe area.”

Great day floating down the Rio Grande
“Our guide, Jackson, made sure we were all prepared and confident before our adventure began. He was very knowledgable about the history of the area and the different parts of the river. Never felt like we were in any danger and wished I had booked a whole day instead of just a half. One of the highlights of our visit to Santa Fe. A great thing for the whole family.”

If you’re looking for a relaxing trip through a beautiful volcanic rock canyon with a few mild class II rapids thrown in, the half-day Rio Grande Float is for you.
